Our Story
Founded by Lucy Kaminsky
Shinsei Cosmetics™ was founded by Lucy Kaminsky, a Canadian food scientist and experienced formulator with decades of professional experience in the food and beverage industry.
As her own skin became drier, more sensitive and more demanding with age, Lucy began looking more critically at conventional skincare. She wanted formulas created specifically for mature skin—not products built around fashionable ingredients, exaggerated promises or complicated routines.
Drawing on her scientific background and understanding of ingredient functionality, she began researching modern cosmetic ingredients and developing formulas for her own changing skin. That personal work gradually became Shinsei Cosmetics™.

For our brand, Shinsei represents renewal—a fresh beginning and a more thoughtful way of caring for mature skin.
We believe mature skin should not be treated as a problem that needs to be corrected. It deserves formulas that respect its changing needs and support hydration, comfort, softness and a healthier-looking appearance.
Formulated with Purpose
Every Shinsei Cosmetics™ formula begins with a clearly defined function.
We carefully select cosmetic peptides, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, ceramides, antioxidants, botanical ingredients and other skin-conditioning components for the roles they perform within the complete formula.
No ingredient is included simply because it is fashionable. Each component must contribute to the product’s purpose and work as part of a balanced skincare system.
Our products are designed to complement one another through a simple, purposeful routine for mature, dry and changing skin.
Produced in Small Batches
Shinsei Cosmetics™ products are made in Canada in controlled small batches.
Small-batch production allows us to give close attention to every formula and maintain the quality and consistency that are central to our approach.
We choose thoughtful formulation over mass production and purposeful skincare over exaggerated promises.
Responsible Ingredient Selection
We work with established cosmetic ingredient suppliers that value scientific research, responsible sourcing and modern production technologies.
Whenever practical, we select ingredients produced through processes designed to reduce environmental impact, including biotechnology, plant-cell cultivation and supercritical CO₂ extraction.
For us, responsible formulation means considering not only how an ingredient performs, but also how it is sourced and produced.
